We want our school to be open and welcoming and we pride ourselves on our family atmosphere. To support this we welcome and encourage members of the school community such as parents and grandparents to volunteer and spend time in school. There are lots of ways that they can help and be involved in the life of the school.
- supporting individual pupils with tasks and activities;
- hearing pupils read;
- helping with classroom organisation and preparation;
- helping with the supervision of children on school trips;
- helping with group work;
- helping with art or subjects involving other practical activities.
Whilst welcoming support, our overriding concern is for the safety and wellbeing of the children in our care and follows strict safeguarding procedures. The school has a clear policy for adult volunteers, which ensures that whilst children benefit from additional help and support, they are provided with the best possible security and protection. This policy (see the link below) sets out the arrangements for all adult volunteers and includes parents, adult helpers and students.
If would like to volunteer some time in school either regularly each week or occasionally helping on school trips or activity days please contact your child’s teacher.
