As many of you may already be aware, our beloved Hartburn headteacher, Mrs Claire Park, has recently beendiagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). This news has deeply affected all of us, and while we are stillcoming to terms with it, we are inspired by her strength, resilience, and bravery.

In support of Claire, to raise awareness of MND, and to raise vital funds for MND research and supportservices, we are launching an initiative to benefit national MND charities, including the Motor NeuroneDisease Association (MND Association) and other established fundraising streams (including ‘Mrs Park’s Park’and ‘Hikes for Claire’).

Welcome to Barley Fields Primary School

Welcome to Barley Fields Primary School.  We are a happy, vibrant and nurturing school at the heart of the Ingleby Barwick community, where every child is valued, supported and encouraged to achieve their very best.  Our strong family ethos is central to everything we do and is something that visitors, parents and carers frequently comment on.  At Barley Fields, relationships are warm and respectful, and we are proud of the close partnerships we build with families, local organisations and our wider community.

We are passionate about providing an ambitious and inspiring curriculum that helps our children thrive academically, socially and emotionally.  Our children experience a rich and exciting education, enhanced by memorable trips, outdoor learning in our two Forest School areas, and opportunities to use technology creatively — including every child from Year 2 having their own iPad. We are proud to be on our journey towards becoming an Apple Distinguished School.

Inclusion and wellbeing are at the heart of our approach. Every child is seen as a unique individual and supported to succeed. We are proud to hold both the GOLD Inclusion Quality Mark and the GOLD Rights Respecting School Award, reflecting our commitment to equality, diversity and children’s rights. Our children achieve highly, behave exceptionally well and leave us as confident, respectful and resilient young people, ready for the next stage of their education.

We warmly invite you to visit us and experience the special atmosphere of Barley Fields for yourself.
