At Barley Fields Primary School, we organise our school into four Key Stages, each with its own dedicated area, entrance, exit and toileting facilities. Classrooms are arranged around shared central spaces, encouraging collaboration between classes while giving each Key Stage its own sense of community.
All classes are single-age and mixed-ability, allowing teaching to be tailored to the individual needs of every child. Lessons are planned to give children the best possible support and opportunities for learning, combining whole-class teaching, group work, and individual activities as appropriate.
The pastoral care of each child is always a main priority. Class teachers work closely with the Head Teacher, Deputy Head Teacher, and Assistant Head Teacher to ensure every child feels supported, safe, and able to thrive in our school family.
For more information, please see our Class Organisation Policy and details about Class Organisation for parents which are reviewed annually.
