I have been a part of the Barley Fields family since I first started teaching in 2013 and have had the pleasure of working in Early Years throughout my career. I have taught across the EY Key Stage but the majority of my time has been in Nursery—spending 9 rewarding and enjoyable years preparing our youngest school children for Reception. I love to be involved in play, helping children to grow their own ideas and moving learning forward. I also enjoy having the opportunity to work closely with our school families across EY and KS1 in my role as SENDCo.

Hello! My name is Mrs Flores and I am incredibly fortunate to be the Early Years Lead here. I have been part of the Barley Fields Family since 2015 and started teaching in 2011. I have taught children from Nursery up to Year 2 but ten out of my thirteen years have been spent teaching in Reception. I have recently completed my NOCN Level 3 Certificate for Forest School Leaders and have loved the challenge of embedding Forest School into our early year’s curriculum offer. My favourite area to spend time in is outdoors! Nothing can beat interacting with children as they discover the natural world around them.

Hi, my name is Mrs Allan and I am one of the Reception Teachers at Barley Fields. I have worked at Barley Fields for 8 years and spent 6 of them in
Reception. I am currently the NELI Lead and have expertise in Speech and Language Development. I love to go to Forest School each week and explore the different areas, my favourite thing to do is to dig for worms! I enjoy learning alongside the children and helping them to explore their interests and develop their ideas!

Hello, my name is Mrs Ripley and I have been fortunate enough to work at Barley Fields since 2008. Throughout my time here at Barley Fields, I have mainly work in Nursery, Reception and Year One. Currently, I am working towards gaining the NOCN Level 3 Certificate for Forest School Leaders and I am developing the EY Forest School so that a wider range of activities can be offered to our children. My favourite time of the day is when we are investigating, exploring and learning outside. Working with children in EY is simply magical, supporting them with their development and learning journey is wonderful to be a part of.

Hello, I am Mrs Baxter and I have been a teacher at Barley Fields since 2009 and I love working here. I am so proud of the warm, nurturing environment we have and I love the family feel – even in such a big school. I am particularly a huge advocate for our Growth Mindset approach. I have worked across the school – from Nursery to Year 6 – but can safely say that my heart lies in Early Years. I love the magic that comes with working with younger children and the excitement they have at discovering new things.

Hello, my name is Mrs Holmes and I am the PPA Teacher for Early Years at Barley Fields. I have been teaching in Key Stage One and Early Years for over 20 years and joined the Barley Fields Family in 2021. I have expertise in Phonics and thoroughly enjoy supporting children with their Physical Development. I am qualified in Level 1 Yoga for children. I love getting creative and using my imagination! My favourite areas to explore are the painting and role play areas, but I also love to sit and share stories with children.

Mrs Gauchi Nursery Teaching Assistant

Hello! I’m Mrs Gauchi and I work as a teaching assistant in our Nursery provision. Across my nine year career as a Teaching Assistant, eight of those have been spent in the Early Years. I have been at Barley Fields since 2019.

In Nursery, I enjoy exploring the ever-changing areas with the children, both inside and outside! I’m particularly drawn to the creative and imaginative areas and like to develop them based around the children’s interests.

Hello, My name is Ms Woolston. Since completing my CACHE Level 2 Teaching Assistant course in September 2016, I have worked in Nursery at Barley Fields Primary School. I’m dedicated and enthusiastic in my role as an Early Years Teaching Assistant. I particularly enjoy supporting the children in the writing area of the classroom to help the children develop their writing skills. I’m passionate about promoting each individual child’s independence and development. It’s an absolute pleasure to be part of such a wonderful, dedicated Early Years team.

Hello, My name is Mrs Hawkins and I have been a Teaching Assistant at Barley Fields Primary School for 11 years. I have supported children in their learning across school – focussing the last 7 years in Early Years. I have experience and specialisms in supporting children when accessing occupational therapy, speech and language and with their physical development. My passions are for supporting children on their learning journey by promoting an inclusive environment.

My favourite areas to learn and explore in are Forest School (especially when searching for frogs!) and the creative area.

Hello, I’m Mrs Taylor and I have worked at Barley Fields since 2012- although I have worked in education for 17 years in total. My experience varies throughout school and I have supported children in all year groups – finally returning back to into Early Years.

I thoroughly enjoy my job and it gives me great satisfaction to work alongside our children – especially with children who sometimes need extra therapy and emotional support. As a keen reader myself, I feel very passionate about reading to children and encouraging them to become little book worms!

Hello, I’m Mrs Robson and I am proud to be part of a fabulous early years team here at Barley Fields. My career in education began 18 years ago with the last 11 years spent as a Teaching Assistant in both Nursery and Reception.

I have a great interest in anything creative. I love to use my skills to provide the children with an interesting and inviting environment, both indoors and outdoors, enabling learning through their play and developing their skills and interests.

I absolutely love our Forest School sessions! It’s a great place to be alongside the children as they explore, observe and discover the natural world.

Mrs Reed – Reception Teaching Assistant

Hi, My name is Mrs Reed and I work as a Teaching Assistant in Reception.  I joined the Early Years Team at Barley Fields Primary School in September 2021.

Prior to this, I worked in various Teaching Assistant roles at other local schools where my experience was predominantly within early years.  The majority of my roles have been working with children with special needs and physical needs. I have a wealth of knowledge in physiotherapy and occupational therapies and deliver these skills to help children develop and prosper.

Here at Barley Fields, my favourite areas to learn in and explore are the extensive outdoor provision and Forest School. I also love our PE enrichment sessions with Mrs Short.

Hello, I am Mrs Hammond. I am currently working across Nursery and Reception. I am one of the newest members of the team, joining in November 2022.

I enjoy working in Early Years and contributing to the first foundations of a child’s education and helping promote their independence skills.

I have worked in Early Years, for 20 years, in a variety of roles. My most recent role, for 7 years before joining the Barley Fields family, was in a specialist setting supporting children and families with additional and complex needs.
